Convert MOV to MP4

iPhone videos are often MOV files in the HEVC codec, which many computers can’t play. Converting to MP4 (H.264) fixes that – on your device.

Frequently asked questions

Why won’t my iPhone video play on Windows?

iPhones save video in the HEVC (H.265) codec, and Windows needs a paid extension to play it. MP4 with H.264 plays on every computer.

Will I lose quality?

Converting to H.264 re-encodes the picture at high quality – you won’t see a difference. A MOV that’s already H.264 is just rewrapped, unchanged.

Which browsers does it work in?

Safari converts HEVC video from an iPhone, and so do Chrome and Edge on most computers and phones. If your browser can’t handle HEVC, we tell you up front.

Are my videos uploaded to a server?

No. Videos are processed right in your browser and never leave your device. Only the tool itself is downloaded from our server, the same for everyone. More in the privacy policy.
