Frequently asked questions

Which languages does it support?

The Whisper model knows dozens of languages, including English, Spanish, French and German. Choose the spoken language, or leave it on Automatic to detect it. For languages other than English, we recommend the Accurate model.

How big is the model download?

Fast is about 77 MB and Accurate about 249 MB. It’s downloaded from our server only the first time, then your browser keeps it.

Is the audio sent anywhere for transcription?

No. Transcription runs entirely in your browser – neither the audio nor the subtitle text ever leaves your device.

Can I use the subtitles on YouTube?

Yes, download them as SRT or VTT and upload them with the video. Or burn them right into the video – handy for Instagram and TikTok, where videos are often watched without sound.

Are my videos uploaded to a server?

No. Videos are processed right in your browser and never leave your device. Only the tool itself is downloaded from our server, the same for everyone. More in the privacy policy.
